I’m very grateful to Elizabeth for offering our Graceful Aging Yoga class on line due to the global pandemic, Covid-19. I’ve been a participant for about 4.5 years at her in person classes and have benefited greatly, so having bi-weekly online classes means I can still stay connected with this community I’ve come to know and love, while continuing to have a sense of routine, which is important in these uncertain times. At the beginning of class, I particularly like the sharing portion - how each of us is feeling/doing and any helpful tips in obtaining groceries or essential supplies while we are sheltering in place. Being able to see and hear each other is a big plus also. Elizabeth’s calm and steady presence is reassuring. She makes a challenging time a bit easier

My classes have given me more flexibility and stamina as well as connection to a whole new group of friends. Elizabeth is the most patient person I know, always understanding of each student’s needs and limitations, and she’s ready with alternate yoga positions so everyone can particate without feeling inferior to others who have more experience. I love my classes in the studio, and now that we are only able to meet on-line, I really cherish the chance to see everyone each week and to maintain my yoga routine. Our cyber-yoga classes have become my favorite parts of life, especially as we go through this difficult time.

For many years, I have cherished weekly yoga classes with Elizabeth Yates; but I had no idea how this experience, now more needed than ever, would continue when physical distancing became necessary. Fortunately, Elizabeth quickly learned to teach, really well, using Zoom; and we are able to meet and practice yoga in the safety of our homes. These classes work remarkably well, and they enable participants to stretch, revitalize, reconnect, and, most importantly, to relieve some of the stress caused by the pandemi

Elizabeth Yates is an inspired yoga teacher. She thoroughly understands body movement, and she gently encourages proper form. She takes each student where they are at, and offers ready modifications throughout each class. She will pause during class and ask us to “notice how our bodies feel.” No class is ever the same, and I truly look forward to each class!

I have been taking yoga with Elizabeth Yates for several years and because of recent circumstances moved to her online sessions. Her presence alone promotes a sense of well being! Her classes are tailored to the differing abilities of the students in the class, with a sensitivity to those whose flexibility or balance may be compromised by age or infirmity. The classes are a wonderful mix of poses that both challenge and soothe the body into a sense of heightened awareness and physical proficiency. I especially appreciate the stretching and light core work embedded in the practice. This class is transformative and I highly recommend this practice for anyone experiencing stress during this unprecedented period of our lives.

I really enjoyed the Svaroopa class I attended Tuesday afternoon and felt very peaceful and relaxed afterward, am glad to have taken it. Mandy Dixon taught the class. I really appreciated her attentiveness to me. I had not taken a Svaroopa yoga class before, though have experience with a number of other types of yoga. Mandy’s instructions were very clear and much appreciated. I am happy to recommend Mandy and Svaroopa yoga!

Elizabeth’s yoga classes are an anchor for me which is much needed and keeps me moving which is very beneficial in many ways. It also helps with a calm mind! I am interested in a sound mind and body and yoga is a big help for that
